Concessionaire has failed: YB -DE

Kota Kinabalu: Assistant State Community Development and Consumer Affairs Minister, Herbert Timbon Lagadan, wants the Public Works Department (JKR) to come in where a road concessionaire had failed to repair and maintain kampung roads in his constituency. 

He feared failure to do so might backfire on the Barisan Nasional. 

"I hope JKR can do something to alleviate the situation in Kadamaian, just as in other areas. The condition of the roads really warrants an upgrade as otherwise the Rakyat will get angry with the State BN," said Timbon, who is also Kadamaian Assemblyman. 

It is understood that maintenance of some of the kampung roads (in Kadamaian) is under the purview of a company, but the villagers claimed these roads had not been maintained nor upgraded for many years. 

He urged PWD Director, John Anthony, to request for funds to upgrade these roads, some barely passable by light vehicles.
